Operations CRM - Enable “Type” Field to be Required When Setting Up Shipto on a Quote

  1. Search "Settings"

    You can choose to require the “Type” field be filled out on a Quote when setting up a shipto. This will only take effect if you’ve configured the Job Types setting with the types listed. To start, search "Settings" in the Operations Portal.

  2. Click on the "Settings" menu

    Then, access the "Settings" menu. To access and edit settings, you will need to be set up either as an “administrator” or a “superuser”, or have the following roles: “settingEdit” and “settingView”.

  3. Search "jobTypes"

    Enter "JobTypes" in the search field.

  4. Click the more details icon

    Click the more details icon.

  5. Update the "Value" field

    Enter the values for the "jobTypes" setting. The format might be a bit complex, so we’ll provide a walkthrough to guide you through it.

  6. Add curly braces inside the brackets

    Inside the brackets [ ], add curly braces {}. The number of curly braces should match the number of items you want in the dropdown. For this example, we’ll add 5 items, so 5 curly braces are separated by commas.

  7. Inside each set of curly braces, add the fields: "code" and "name"

  8. For each field, provide a corresponding value. Write each value in quotation marks, and use a colon to separate the field from its value.

  9. Click "Save"

    Save the updates by clicking on "Save".

  10. Select the job type

    Once configured, the Job Types list will be available for selection in the Quote Types dropdown.

  11. Shipto can now be activated

    Then, the ship-to can now be activated.

  12. "Job Type" is required

    Please note that if this feature is enabled and you attempt to activate a ship-to without a selected job type, a message will prompt you to specify the job type on the quote.
