Product Documentation PIM Explore PIM Products Screen Overview

PIM Screen Overview

The PIM screen lets you view and manage your product catalog information. From the PIM overview, you can view a full list of all products synced from your ERP, as well as product information such as product code, name, PIM category, PIM status, product type and other details.

Searching for Products

The "Search" screen can be the starting point to access product records and to edit details of an existing product in the Portal.

  • On the PIM grid, type your product in the search field - either by code or by name.
  • Click the details icon to access the product's records.

Data Tab

The "Data" tab will be the place where you can view product information, add new products, and complete mass updates. Mass updates can be done by importing or by updating directly on this screen. This tab acts like an embedded spreadsheet with multiple options for bulk editing, such as editing on the fx field or copying and pasting, plus function like quick keys and shortcuts you would have in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. This embedded spreadsheet is sortable and has filters and faceting available so you can easily find the product you’re looking for.

To customize your grid view, click the "Show / Hide Columns" icon in the upper right side of the embedded spreadsheet, then click the columns you would like to view. You can also save the view as a sticky filter to quickly pull up the same view each time you are in the Data tab, and this view can be shared publicly or privately.

You can also search for specific products or information in the Data tab by clicking into the search field, or in the searchable columns - then typing in the term you are looking for.

Updating Products

From the Data tab, you can utilize the spreadsheet feature to easily mass update products. There are multiple options available for mass updating. Filters are also available on the column headers to easily narrow down the products you’d like to update.

  • Select the cells you'd like to update.
  • You will see the text on the selected cell in the fx section below the menu bar.
  • Edit the text in the fx field, or update text directly in the grid cells.
  • Select a cell that you'd like to copy.
  • You can click on Edit from the menu and select Copy or press Ctrl + C using the keyboard shortcuts.
  • Highlight the cells where you want to paste the copied cells.
  • Select "Paste" from "Edit" on menu or press "Ctrl + V" with your keyboard shortcuts to paste copied cell/cells.

Category Assignment

The Category Assignment tab allows you to view all of your products and the specific categories they appear in. Each product can appear in more than one category and should be assigned to the lowest child category.

Filter Categories are created with a specific naming convention of "fg_[NAME]", and you can control the order of your filter categories by using a number score where the lowest number is the closest to the top, such as your first category being assigned a number score of 0, your second category receiving a number score of 5, and your third category being assigned a number score of 10.

You can easily add new Filter Categories by adding them directly in the grid, or by using the import feature to do a mass import.
