Driver Delivery App V2 Workflow

The Driver Delivery App V2 offers a more simplified workflow when compared to V3, whereas it does not integrate with a third-party logistics software. Instead, drivers use order numbers to retrieve and manage orders in the app. The order numbers can be typed or scanned directly in the app.

The app comes with a user-friendly interface, enabling drivers to navigate the app with ease from an iOS or Android phone or tablet. Drivers can use the app for every order and delivery—all while capturing proof of delivery, maintaining the order status throughout the delivery route, and sending automated status notifications to customers.

See for yourself what your drivers would experience by walking through the workflow of the app:

Driver Experience Workflow

Step 1: Log In

To log in, users will tap on the "Get Started" button and then enter their login credentials.

Step 2: Search for an Order

To begin managing an order delivery, users will pull up an order by manually typing the order number using their device’s keyboard, or they can scan the order using their device’s camera.

Step 3: View Order Screen

Once an order is typed or scanned, the app will automatically pull up the order screen if the order exists. The order screen will have the following information available:

  • Full Order Details (e.g., customer name, company name, delivery address, contact phone number)
  • GPS Directions
  • Order Status Buttons (e.g., out for delivery, on my way, arrived, delivered)
  • Add Order Images
    • Users can capture and upload proof-of-delivery images using the app’s camera or by uploading photos from their device’s gallery.
  • Complete Driver Checklist
  • Damage Waiver

Step 4: Manage Order Statuses

Using the order status buttons, users can select statuses individually while en route to update the delivery status. Doing so will send automated email and SMS status notifications to customers depending on the notification permissions your customers have enabled. The status messages sent to customers can be customized if needed.

Step 5: Get Directions

Users can tap on the "Directions" button to receive real-time directions to their delivery location via their device’s navigation app.

Step 6: View Order Details

By selecting "Full Details", users will be taken to the Order Details page.

Here, they will be able to view the following details:

  • Delivery Information
    • Customer name, company name, delivery address, and contact phone number
  • Order Information
    • Order number, PO number, order date, requested ship date, and more
  • Order Items
    • Name of item ordered, quantity ordered, and more
  • Notes
    • Notes section for users to type in any notes or details related to the order
  • Proof of Delivery
    • All proof-of-delivery photos will appear once captured and uploaded

Step 7: Add Proof-of-Delivery Images

By selecting the "Add Order Images" button, drivers can begin to add proof-of-delivery images to the order.

They have the option to use their device’s camera to take photos directly from the app, or they can upload photos from their device’s image gallery. To access their camera, they will select the "Camera" button. If it’s their first time using the camera function in the app, they will receive a notification from their device prompting them to grant the app camera permissions. Once access has been granted, they can begin taking photos using their camera.

If they want to upload images from their existing image gallery, they can select the "Photos" button and choose from the images available. They can select one or multiple images to upload.

Once the images are taken with the camera or chosen from the gallery, they will appear on the Order Pictures screen and under the "Proof of Delivery" section within the Order Details in the app. They will also be available in the Customer Portal and Operations Portal, which is covered later in this documentation.

Step 8: Complete Driver Checklist

A Driver Checklist is available in the app for your drivers to complete upon delivery, if you choose to require it. The checklist contains a list of customizable questions that your driver will answer. At the end of the questionnaire, they can capture a signature from your customers to sign off on the acceptance of goods. Touch-to-sign technology is built into the app so your customers can sign directly on the screen.

Step 9: Complete Damage Waiver

A Damage Waiver is available within the app, and you can choose whether you’d like to make this a requirement of your drivers. The contents of the waiver are also customizable. If you choose to require a damage waiver, your drivers can present it to your customers and request a signature from them before finalizing the delivery.

Step 10: View Network Queue (If Applicable)

In instances where cellular data is not available, photos and files will be stored in the background of the app and uploaded at a later time when connection is restored. The network queue can be found on the home screen of the app and will contain a red notification dot, along with the number of queued items. By tapping on the "Network Queue' button, they will be able to see a full list of images and files waiting to upload. At this time, they can choose to delete the items individually or push to try uploading again.

App Support

If drivers need assistance while on the go, they can contact the Kodaris Support team directly in the app. To ask a question or to talk with a support team member, they can select the "Message" icon on the home screen. This will open up a support chat where they can begin typing using their device’s keyboard.

If they are experiencing a problem or bug within the app, they can report it by tapping on the "More Menu" icon on the home screen and selecting "Report a Problem". Doing this will open up a form they can fill out and submit.

View Proof-of-Delivery Files in the Customer Portal & Customer Mobile App

Once customers receive an order, they have the ability to view all related proof-of-delivery documents and images in the Customer Portal and the Customer Mobile App. All proof-of-delivery files (photos, signatures, waivers, checklists, etc.) will be available on the "Files" tab under an order. From here, they can preview and download the files.

View Proof-of-Delivery Files in the Operations Portal

While the customer can view their proof-of-delivery files, you can also view them for each order in the Operations Portal. All proof-of-delivery files will be available on the "Customer Files" tab under an order. From here, you can preview and download the files.
