There's an interesting shift happening in the developer and IT space right now. AI is writing an extraordinary amount of code, making development faster and more flexible than it's ever been. We're all seeing layoffs across the industry, but the reason is simpler than people think.
Senior people who understand business, problem solving, and solutioning can now have AI write the code for them. We are approaching a day very soon where almost no engineers will actually write code. Instead, they will describe the problem and solution, and then have their junior engineers, Claude, write the code, a different engineer, Claude QA, review it, and another junior engineer test it before releasing it for user feedback.
This isn't a brand-new practice; it's a massive acceleration of an existing one. It was typically done by senior engineers, junior engineers, and QA teams. Product people scoped user stories and solution architects scoped requirements. The difference now is that by the time a senior engineer finishes scoping and solutioning, AI can write the code, run QA and security reviews, and push it into production. The iterations are much, much faster.
Gone are the days of people spending their time just learning to code. The focus has shifted entirely to understanding customers and thinking through problems. This opens the door for anyone with vision and creativity to participate in the development process.
This will change how we train engineers and developers, but also opens the door for people who were never traditionally in the development process. QA people, product people, and non-designers can all participate if they can be creative and have vision. You can have teams of people working alongside AI to create solutions as fast as you can think of them.
In the B2B space, this matters even more. At Kodaris, we understand our customer's problems and work through them to create solutions faster than ever. But the ultimate step is giving your customer the ability to create those solutions themselves.
The platforms that will win will be the ones that do the heavy lifting: security, compliance, and foundational infrastructure, and then give you the rails to be productive as business changes. You need the power to modify, edit, and design on the fly.
This is our focus at Kodaris. We're building a platform where AI handles the core upgrades, giving you more power to leverage yourself for your company and your customers.
Otherwise, we're just switching from the traditional SaaS model of requesting features to requesting features written by AI. That's not the ideal progress.
We are working on building a platform that enables customers to use AI to solve problems themselves. It is the future, but it is critical for every company to disrupt themselves right now and take a hard look at the future.
It's certainly an interesting time we're living in.
