Just a few months ago, we went from a world we knew as normal, into a crazy set of events unfolding into conditions we have never seen during our lifetime - and that we or our children will never forget. From total, or near total shutdown of the economy, to the violence we have witnessed against our own citizens, to the violence of looters and those doing further damage to already struggling business owners. Some days we may wonder where do we go from here?
As many of you know, we started our marketplace project to try and promote US and allied made products made by small manufacturers. I had forgotten how difficult it was to start a new business up, set up processes, build out connections, and the list goes on and on. With events unfolding, it seems like nothing we do is ever fast enough, even if we are moving at a breakneck pace. I have followed and read John Mauldin for years and many times he has written, the American entrepreneur will figure it out, but it will take time.
It will take time, but we can change the world one decision at a time. I have begun to try to stop and think before I make a purchase - where was this made? Is there a US or allied made alternative? Maybe there is not an alternative, but we can never change the future unless we stop and ask. It will help those around us. It may not instantly change the world, but these small decisions will lead to a massive impact. The only reason the world changed several weeks ago is that we all stopped all at once. It will take time and effort to develop new habits, but they have a larger impact on all of our future and the generations which will follow us.
